2020 Road to a Cure

 Road to a cure

"PSC Partners is like having an extended family who understands."

Every year, we gain momentum in our search for treatments and a cure for primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), and we need you to join us on the ROAD TO A CURE.

There are many ways for you to participate in the 2020 campaign. If you would like more information, please visit our Ways To Give page.

With your help, in 2020, we will:

  • continue to expand our efforts and further our mission of providing education and support to PSC patients, families and caregivers
  • raise funds to research causes, treatments, and cures for primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC)
  • provide accurate information and support to PSC patients and caregivers, and
  • fund the most promising PSC-related research worldwide.

Direct donations and personal fundraisers are impactful ways to support PSC Partners Seeking a Cure on the ROAD TO A CURE.

Be a part of the Road to a Cure team by having:

  • A Fun-Run
  • A Pajama-Party Movie Night (Before the movie, show the three-minute PSC video.)
  • A Bike Race
  • Facebook Fundraiser, or
  • Another fun event.

Be creative! Your fundraising activity can take any shape your heart (or liver) desires as long as it fits our Fundraising Guidelines and you complete the Fundraising Proposal Form.

Since inception, thanks to the support of our community, we have:

  • Awarded almost $3.5 million in grantsfor PSC Research, with 65 studies funded to date
  • Secured a PSC-Specific ICD-10 Code (K83.01). Keep spreading the word to medical providers about the new PSC code
  • Hosted 15 Patient & Caregiver Conferences, with the 16thbeing held in Denver, April 24-26, 2020
  • Been approved by the FDA to hold a Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) meeting in Wash., D.C., in October 2020
  • This year, registry data was used for studies on pregnancy, nutrition, a potential PSC trigger, and more
  • The registry participation is now up to 1425. PSCers, add your name to the registry.

Interested in making a real difference and helping us raise funds for a cure?

Here's what your support can do:

  • $40,000 funds a young investigator research grant for one year
  • $30,000 funds a research grant for one year
  • $25,000 annually maintains PSC Partners' patient registry,a critical resource for clinical trials
  • $3,000 allows us to offer an AASLD Abstract Award to the investigator presenting the most promising PSC research at The Liver Meeting
  • $250/per conference attendee. Did you know that each year PSC Partners subsidizes almost half of the cost of each registration for our annual conference? Your sponsorshipmakes the conference a more affordable event for all attendees, most of whom are patients living with PSC.
  • $50 enables printing of 100 educational brochures that are delivered each year to physicians' offices around the world. Need some to give to your doctor? Click herefor the online brochure request form, or contact us.

Helpful information for your campaign: We believe that education and awareness are empowering, so we’ve created a fundraising flyer that can help you spread the word about how important community support is in the quest for better treatments and a cure for PSC.
