Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) is a rare disease that causes the bile ducts inside and outside of the liver to become scarred, narrowed, and eventually blocked. As more and more ducts are blocked, bile becomes trapped and damages the liver. This damage causes liver cell injury, which can ultimately lead to cirrhosis and require a liver transplant. The cause of PSC is not known, and there are no medical therapies proven to slow its progression. PSC Partners Seeking a Cure is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide education and support to PSC patients, families and caregivers and to raise funds to research causes, treatments and cures for PSC.
